Help advice needed - Got poked in the eye this morning

By my DD (18 months).
Was very sore at the time and now I can't see properly out that eye, normally ot 20/20 vision and now very blurry.
I phoned the opticians and will be going in later on, but in the meantime, can anyone tell me if this is normal when this happens?

My dh has had this happen a couple of times, apparently his retina had slightly detached. Sounds awful but cleared up within days and no lasting damage! Think you are definitely doing the right thing going to the opticians though.

thanks, optician has given me some drops and will see me again next week.
