Chronic daily headache

Any other sufferers here?

I've suffered from headaches for the last 25 years but they've got worse in the last 15 years. Last January I went to the doctor and his advice was to avoid the painkillers as I was misusing them (not in the sense of going over the recommended daily dose, but it taking two or three doses to knock the headache on the head IYSWIM?). I managed 5 weeks until I had a migraine. However, I can feel myself slipping back down the slippery slope where I'm using them too much again. I have ME and Fibromyalgia, but the pain with Fibro is under control by prescription meds.
The longest I've managed recently (last 6 months) is 11 days. I'd really like to cut down. I worry about damage to my liver etc. I mostly take paracetamol with caffeine and I occasionally need cocodamol. Anadin Extra only when it's an absolute stonker like today, cos the aspirin gives me stomach ache. Same for Ibroprofen. Has anyone managed to cut down successfully?

Yes I did - I tried every medication!

Then my neurologist said to up amitriptylene and it worked. I weaned myself off after two years and the headaches had gone.

That's interesting
I have had daily headaches but I think they are stress and screen based

Yes. Always on waking. Probably from snoring. I used to get terrible premenstrual headaches too. I manage it with sumatripan which I buy online. It works well. I only need to use it once a fortnight and any other days a single cup of coffee and some fresh air helps.
Stress, sunshine etc are all triggers

I don't suppose a head massager will help, you might have tried that?

The cold migraine pads help me.
