10 days ago I randomly hurt the back of my knee. So what feels like the muscle pull? I presumed I had pulled a muscle. I could barely straighten it for a few days. I have now got to the same level pain so it isn’t getting any worse but not better? It’s to one side at the back and about 3 inches I can feel the length of the pain?

You need a physio. See if there are any private physios in your area. I know you don't want these things to heal wrongly, or it'll give you gyp thereafter. You need it to heal correctly and you need advice.

This suggests sprains and strains will feel better after two weeks.

Are you taking painkillers or rubbing gel on it or anything?

I’m not taking pain killers as I can only take codeine and makes me blocked up f I take it more than 2 days in a row. I don’t know of any physio’s but I will have a google. I don’t understand as I didn’t do anything to it, no fall or injury.

I’m actually waiting for a phone call from a physio in a month about my knees as they hurt when they bend, so walking up stairs etc and even though they aren’t swollen they look big, almost like I have 2 knee caps??

I'm having physio at the moment for something that sounds similar. Almost 4 weeks ago I stood up and felt my knee give with shooting pain in back of knee.

Managed to get to see physio who diagnosed a bakers cyst, the swelling was crazy, looked almost double in size. 6 lots of physio massage and exercises, ibuprofen, ice, rest and elevation later, it's still not 100%!

Def try to see a physio if you can,

Doesn’t most codeine have paracetamol mixed in with it? Just taking paracetamol would help with the pain whilst you wait to speak to a physio.

Yes I meant cocodamol. I can’t find any local to me that can see me

If you can't take oral antiinflammatories can you use ibuprofen gel or similar? Are you resting it and using heat and ice to at least temporarily improve it until you can see someone? Can you do an econsult with your GP they may be able to guide you with what to do?

I have tiger balm as well as some type of nurofen gel thing but it doesn’t make a difference? It’s so weird. I can feel it in a line exactly where it hurts which I am guessing is a muscle or a tendon...?
