Vaginal discharge, please calm me down :(

I really need to calm down, I’ve worked myself up.

Noticed for the last few days that there’s been some white discharge in the toilet when I go for a wee.

I’ve just done a urine dipstick at work and it’s negative for infection so the discharge must be coming from my vagina.

It looks like small pieces of tissue paper in the toilet and I’ve noticed some look as if they could have some blood on them (but I’m not sure).

Has anyone else experienced this? I’m on the pill if that makes a difference.

I’m at work and desperately trying to calm down as I’ve worked myself up so much.

I’m not pregnant, just did a test.

Have you had any other symptoms of late ?x

CakeWarrior · 24/03/2021 23:07

Its probably cervical mucous, i get that too.
Usually around when due on period,
It may be hormonal x

Spudbyanyothername · 24/03/2021 23:09

Sounds like normal mucus. I tended to have more mid cycle on the pill.

Gembie · 24/03/2021 23:12

Could be thrush - do you have any itching?

Don’t panic - all causes of vaginal discharge are basically treatable!

Greenhamster22 · 24/03/2021 23:14

@LemonSherbetFancies no, I can feel a slight right sided pain now but I’ve been prodding and poking out of anxiety so I’ve probably stupidly caused this myself.

Thank you for the replies xx

@Gembie no itching at all, I’m really hoping it’s just mucus as said by the posters above. Thank you for your response.

If there’s a bit of blood, it could be spotting if you have ‘skipped’ your period by continuously taking the pill. That happened to me after continuously taking the pill for months without a break.

Greenhamster22 · 24/03/2021 23:21

Thank you so much everyone I feel a bit more calm now

I would ask my GP anyway just to be sure.
Probably it’s nothing but better safe then sorry. I’m very sure they don’t mind at all if you call them to ask, OP. It’s perfectly normal to worry about discharge that’s different from usual and I think you’ll feel better once you discuss it with a HCP.

Urinary tract infections don't always show up on tests. Contact your GP and stop prodding Smile
