Broken toe 6 weeks on

Hi, think I broke my second toe about 6 weeks ago.
It made a loud crack noise, I couldn't weight bare for a while and was very swollen and bruised. I followed NHS advice (rest, ice etc and have been strapping it up). 6 weeks on it now looks odd - I can't bend it and it still causes me pain, it feels swollen around the joints.
Just wondered how long it took other people before they could bend broken toes? Was/is there anything they could do after 6 weeks? Worried I've left it too late now if it needed realigning or if it is the joint that was damaged.
I've got a GP tel appointment soon for another thing so going to mention it then but thought I'd see what others experiences have been...Thanks!

Just to add - by second toe, I mean second toe on foot (next to big toe)..I haven't broken two toes!

This happened to my neighbour they had to rebreak his toe to set it straight.

I've done that. Same toe. I could limp on it, but could only wear sandals due to swelling and pain. I didn't seek medical help (as I was on holiday at the time and dealing with a poorly baby) and it gradually got better, but took ages - months, rather than weeks.

It still looked weird after a year. I haven't thought about it for a while, so just checked and it seems pretty normal now, after nearly two years.

I did this but when I eventually got it looked at they just shrugged and said we don't do anything for broken toes. It took a long time to feel ok and the nail never grew properly again.

I’ve broken a couple of toes and had to have it put back into place on one occasion. Apparently, you have to be quite careful that it doesn’t fix back in the wrong position? I can’t quite recall why but on both occasions because they were sticking out at an odd position (baby toe) I had to have an x ray and they took it all quite seriously despite me thinking it was just a toe and I could strap it up. I think it may be worth having it checked just in case.

Thanks everyone ☺. Thought there would be a mixed response, I'm going to mention it to the GP and see if they can refer me for an x-ray.
