Abnormal Bleeding - need to have an urgent smear test

I'm scared stiff. Sitting here worrying. DH is in work, so can't call him (sent text, waiting for him to phone me).

I've had an abnormal bleed whilst on the implant contraceptive. Rang the Family Planning helpline, and need to have a smear test done quickly, Rang my doctors and they are closed on thursday afternoons!

Doctor in FP wasn't too sure what would cause it as I have had the implant for almost two years, hence the need for smear test. If that comes back fine, I may need a scan.

What could it be, because I'm sitting here thinking the worst

I have abnormal bleeding every few months for about five yrs now, they have done loads of tests and found nothing wrong, it is just one of those things. Of course abnormal bleeding isnt something to be ignored as can be serious but many times it isnt. Try not to worry to much

Thanks for that. I'm having a smear test tomorrow in the family planning clinic.

could be due to cell changes (don't worry this is very slow moving and pre-cancerous cells take years to become anything dangerous) or cervical erosion. Have had and been treated for both unfortunately.
