Deep sleep and deep sleep continuity

I have a fitness band and it tracks my sleep over night and registers the details on the health app on my phone.

The sleep app says my deep sleep continuity is low and the chart also gives the same information. Basically I can see from the chart that every night is different and for the most part I am not staying in a deep sleep for very long. The reading from last night was particularly bad. It showed two short deep sleeps early in the night and then a long spell of REM sleep and light sleep and broken up by a short stretch of a deep sleep.

Casting aside these details. I feel it for sure because I feel hungover today even though I wasn't drinking.

The app gives recommendations to improve deep sleep and I implemented a lot over the past year. I had a bad day yesterday. I had a long day in work and I went home to a demanding mother and I had a night of stress dumped on my back before I was even allowed to consider going to bed. I dod suspect it was stress that contributed.

Is there anything else I can do to increase the deep sleep continuity?

Which trackers do you use. I found the only seemingly reliable one is the Fitbit. Others I could tell were wrong. Still experts don't believe in Fitbit sleep assessments.

I have found it very reliable other the years, from picking up the time I've dreamt which I know is correct, wake up times, even if it a minute or do, and the way I feel next day certainly reflects how much deep sleep I've had.

Sadly, my deep sleep is very poor. I am lucky to get 1h and that will be over 5 + periods. It's also rarely at the start of my sleep as it should.

Last night, I slept 7 hours 38 MNS and only has 20mns of deep sleep. I feel crap!

Sadly, trying to get more is not an easy task but mainly comes down to relaxing the mind. Mindfulness, relaxation, CBT etc...

In my case, nothing really seems to work since I've entered the menopause.

Thank you so much for the reply.

I use the Huawei health app and Honor fitness band. I do find it can be slightly unreliable with registering naps when I haven't taken a nap. A period of sitting down relaxing or lying down on the bed but awake is all it takes to register a nap.

I might consider a fit it at some stage if I find a deal.

I had a very stressful evening. I do think that contributed to it.

I had a huwaei watch and it was very inaccurate for recording sleep. Didn't pick up my getting up to go to the toilet whilst recording awake times when I knew If been asleep.

It actually recorded more DS than my Fitbit but that didn't match how I felt in the morning.

Had only 20mns DS sleep the night before and 30mn last night in 3 and 6 stages, longest was 14mns in 8h hours sleep each night. I'm feeling completely shattered and despite the ideal conditions to go for a run, I'm on the sofa in MN because I'm too drained to do anything! So frustrating!
