Different diagnosis from two different professionals

I have severe arm, shoulder and neck pain. Physio says slipped disc pressing on nerve. Osteopath says compression on a different nerve root and tension in pectoral and neck muscles. I am sore whoever puts their hands on me. Nhs protocol is no mri until eight weeks. What should I do? I am on the verge of private mri that I can't easily afford but am also potentially treating problem incorrectly. Any advice welcome. I am 3 weeks into this nightmare.

Can you try both treatments with a week in between and decide afterwards which one to go with. One might be much more helpful then the other

I had physio a week ago. It was painful and I was back in bed the day after. It did then recede back to baseline.

I had osteo today. I felt ok to start with but pain now bad plus headache and soreness in back more. If it continues until Friday then I guess that might give me my answer. But then again physio is much gentler anyway which is fine if it is slipped disc for which treatment is wait and see rest and gentle exercise.

I just don't want to do more harm. I also don't want to spend money on anything ineffectual. Nor do I want to be laid up for eight weeks before nhs give a shit. I should also be at work and have severely disabled dd to take care of.
