I been reading on the thread about people worried/not sure about taking champix. As I am a new user of champix, I would like to give my advice on champix and what I done to get where I am today. I read the leaflet and decided to see if I could set a quit date as advised in the paper work, I personally found I couldn't. The thing with champix is that everyone is different, not everybody can stop on a certain date. My advice is just keep smoking until your body tells you when to quit, and DO NOT STOP TAKING TABLETS. Take the tablets as instructed, find the best times for yourself, always drink water when taking them, and have something to eat any thing a biscuit/toast cereal. I took my first tablet without food (because some users feel sick, but not everyone) I did. I ate toast, as I not a morning eating person never have been, I knew toast would not help me, so I tried porridge and it brilliant for me and I am eating it when I get up. I have been taking champix for 1month and two weeks (6 weeks) and I cut down to 9 fags a day (after being 20 a day) the tablets done it for me, then five weeks into smoking one cig a day at end of night I just stopped. I just want to remind everyone who wants to stop to give champix a try(if you tried everything else), I think there the best, I tried everything and I been smoking for 48 years and do not know life without a cigarette and that is why I am trying, because I want to know what it like not to smoke. To everyone who reads this good luck be truthful to yourself and you will get through it. One thing even if you stop quickly do not stop taking the tablets stick to the recommended time. I know what I like I'm in for the long haul, I doing 3 months(already got tablets) and because I know how weak I am I doing as paperwork advised another 3 months to make sure when I off smoking I stay off. Pp can buy champix from coop pharmacy online found them the cheapest. Good luck everyone.
