Hi anyone else been on Microgynon and felt absolutely fine? I’ve been on it so far for a couple of weeks. I havent felt any difference, other than a slight headache for a few days but that was about it. Boudoir actually think I feel a bit better. But because I feel the same, I’m worried it’s not actually working haha so many horror stories and prepared to feel awful

On it for years with zero problems and stopped all unpleasant period side effects. It's the most commonly prescribed contraceptive Pill on the NHS. With such very large numbers of people taking it there are bound to be "horror stories",but they are not representative of the experience of the vast majority.

I was on this for years with no problems at all.

Was on it for years, no problems except that if you are late taking one, assume you aren’t covered regardless of what it says on the packet.

Absolutely killed my libido. No interest in sex and frankly zero enjoyment from it. My poor boyfriend at the time. Came off it and wow realised what all the fuss was about!

I absolutely loved microgynon and felt completely fine on it until I gained a bit of weight and it sent my bp sky high. I was gutted when my clinic wouldn't prescribe it to me anymore and put me on the mini pill instead (which I then fell pregnant on, gained even more weight and haven't been able to have microgynon since).

I'm extremely lucky in that I've never had any problems with the pill. I was on Regevidon from when I was 16 until I came off it when I was 21 when my husband and I wanted to ttc. I never had any problems at all.

I had my baby then at the 6 week check I went back on it as I was exclusively formula feeding. I specifically asked for that one because that's what I was on so it seemed to make sense.

I had problems taking it. It made me feel sick and I couldn't take it. So I switched to Microgynon 30, and it was the best thing I've ever done. It was better for me in every way.

As I say I've never had any problems with weight gain or my hormones or anything else. On my first pill my withdrawal bleeds were fine. On my second they were slightly shorter and lighter, it just works better for me. (I know I've been told in the past they are exactly the same. But I can't explain it. It was the doctor who suggested I change so I assumed there must be some differences). Now I take my pills back to back, without my week break. I do this for 6 months. So I take 6 strips in a row without a break. Then I have a break for 1 week, when I have my withdrawal bleed. Then I start again for 6 months. So I only have 2 bleeds a year.
It's brilliant and doesn't impact on me at all

I couldn't imagine having proper periods. I'd hate it. When I was off the pill ttc I hated it so much. Again I never suffered with my proper periods before I was on the pill, I had no cramps or anything. It's just the pill makes it much easier still

happymummy12345 · 16/03/2021 13:17

And yea I know it's not what you're supposed to do and I'm not suggesting anyone else does it. But it works for me and I'm happy so I'll carry on

Hoppinggreen · 16/03/2021 13:18

I was on it for many years with no issues

Sansaplans · 16/03/2021 13:18

I'm not on the pill anymore, but for the 15 years I was i tried many- I found microgynon gave me the least side effects.
