toddler poos 4 or 5 times a day: is that normal?

i know theres quite a wide spate of what normal is, but my 1yr old's started pooing 4 or 5 times a day most days now. think he's possibly teething again, and theres been a bit of upheaval, as we went off to spain etc. his poo isn't extra runny, but he has nappy rash so its most inconvienient!
he has quite a high fibre diet, with lots of fruit and wholemeal rather than white grains usually. he only has meat about once a month, so mostly veggie stuff. should i try and clog him up a bit by changing his diet? or just wait to see if he slows down again? he's a big one for snacks and i don't really want to swap fruit for anything less wholesome, but i want his nappy rash to clear up asap and the many poos a day doesn't help.
sorry for tmi!!

I hate it!

I think it's normal - hasn't caused any probs with her

My DD1 and DD2 were like this at this age. It was always related to teething. It was horrible while it lasted and their skin would be raw and bleeding even though I changed them the second I realized. It passes.
