Chest pains A&E couldn't find anything

I went to A&E Wednesday night they let me go Thursday morning. Ran several test I had a heart rate of 120 and chest pains. They couldn't find anything it's not stopped since I've left.
I can't bare the thought of sitting in A&E again all night for them to send me on my way again.

Any ideas what it could be? My chest feels heavy and I'm very breathless pain in my back and chest.

What did they tell you to do?

iloveautumn3 · 12/03/2021 12:18

Anxiety or stress you could go see your GP instead.

MonkeyNotOrgangrinder · 12/03/2021 12:19

Did you have blood tests?

isitnormaltobethistired · 12/03/2021 12:28

Nothing just sent me home and if it carries on to come back in, I'm just getting so upset over it all now I don't no where to turn.

I don't have anything to be anxious or stressed about though so I don't see how it could be that?

Yes two blood tests, second one was for my heart and to see if their could be any blood clots he said.

So it sounds lime they've ruled out a heart attack and pulmonary embolism. Did they do a chest xray? It could be a chest infection of some sort, although they would have probably done bloods to see if the infection markers in your blood were raised.

gamerchick · 12/03/2021 13:37

Acid reflux? I get the pain you describe when it's bad and I'm not looking after it.

They've ruled out your heart, you need to look at other reasons for it.

imfallingtopieces · 12/03/2021 14:31

What did A&E say? Did they tell you to contact Gp or anything. Hope you feel better soon

isitnormaltobethistired · 12/03/2021 15:25

Off to the GP at 5 he reckons it's anxiety but I'm not anxious over anything so how could it be anxiety. Ugh

Anxiety can mimic a heart attack and you don’t have to feel anxious. It’s a nasty thing and hard to get your head round when you’re not a particularly anxious person. If your bloods and other a&e tests are coming up normal it’s probably not your heart. I went to a&e three times before I accepted the diagnosis of anxiety. Sorry you’re feeling so rough.

imfallingtopieces · 12/03/2021 15:31

Yes, I too ended up in a&e thinking it was my chest, and it was anxiety/panic attack. It's not nice Thanks

Cocolapew · 12/03/2021 15:33

Pleurisy? Does it hurt to breath in?

LifesLittleDeciders · 12/03/2021 15:36

I have panic disorder; I get panic attacks randomly- I can even wake up with them- nothing to be panicked about but I suddenly feel really tight and heavy at the top of my chest, the throat feels tight sometimes and I get sharp chest pains when I breath, my heart rate goes way up and I get really bad heart palpitations.

If they can’t find a cause I’d probably say it’s random panic attacks .

I had a similar issue a nd also had tests on heart in a and e. Two days later I started with horrible chest infection.

Lottieskeeper · 12/03/2021 15:47

Please make sure you get this investigated thoroughly. Don't just write it off as panic attacks.
I had similar a couple of years ago. A night in a&e and they couldn't find anything, my GP referred me to a cardiologist at the hospital who was very doubtful there was anything wrong with me and did lots of tests and found nothing until he did an angiogram and found a 95% blockage in an artery.
He was surprised I was as 'well' as I was, and I would have gone on to have a heart attack if left untreated.
I've now had stents fitted and feel so much better.
