Weird insect bite...

This is very weird but wonder if anyone has had similar thing or can give any advice. Around 6 months ago in Southern Spain I got an insect bite on my cheek - felt it straight away, it swelled up as did my cheek and eye and also bruised the area. I think it was probably a Tiger Mosquito as it bit me during the day and these are horrible things. Thing is - I still have a really itchy red bump there and sometimes it really swells up. I really cannot ring GP with a bloody lump on my face when we are in the midst of a pandemic, keep thinking oh it will go but so far it is just the same. DH thinks there is something in it and I should stick a needle in it!

I react to mozzie bites - they always swell up massively and weep and get very red and hot. Often if I am bitten again, can be several months later, the site of a previous bite will start itching/swelling again, but it does take a new bite to reignite it.

Does yours go down again after antihistimine?

@Seeline yes if I put some steroid cream on it or take an antihistamine it goes down - just didn't think it would last this long and usually I do not react to bites!

IF the AHs help, it probably is still related to the original bite.
Maybe ask a pharmacist for advice?

My mother had this exact same problem a few years ago . She stuck a pin in it and squeezed and something hard actually come out !

@cactuslover1992 just tried the pin method and it just bled a lot so all you can see a a bloodied lump now LOL

O got bitten on a beach in Majorca in June 1996. 99% sure it was a mosquito bite, as I had others the same day on the same leg.
Ive still got a red racist lump there. I've had it looked at and been told its harmless and to leave it (but its not on my feet, they may be more sympathetic to you).
Occasionally it can itch a bit but for the most part i forget it's there.

@cactuslover1992 nothing came out - however - I squeezed it and it bled and it seems to have sorted it! I think there must have been something microscopic there causing irritation! It is totally settled now.
