I was just wandering how long does it take for a mental health patient to come off medication. I was sectioned in a mental health clinic for 2 months in 2018. I saw the Early intervention in psychosis team from 2017 - 2020. Since August 2020 I have been with the community treatment team and they are going to reduce my medication as I'm stable. I was on a depot. Now I'm on tablets. I haven't been told how long it will take to reduce and for discharge. My community psychiatric nurse said they are thinking of discharging me if I remain stable on tablets then they will continue reducing. I just wanted to ask how long will it take reduce and discharge back to my GP roughly how long if anyone knows or has been sectioned before.
