Lower back pain - problems 2 years on

2 years ago after showering, without actually noticeably doing anything to my back (such as twisting etc), out of nowhere I was in excruciating pain. This pain was constant and prevented me really from being able to stand/walk/sit/lie down anything really! I struggled even to walk down the street. After 2 weeks it improved and then gradually got better. However, over the past 2 years it twinges and sometimes almost relapses where it hurts but doesn't stop me doing anything.

The pain is my lower back to the left, a few inches above the buttocks. I never went to the doctors about it but I just wonder what on earth it was that sometimes it can still affect me? The pain was sharp and severe but didn't radiate or cause weakness etc. It was localised to this one spot in my back.

Yes - it's more than likely muscular. And yes - it's agony

I call them 'sofa related injuries' because you can literally be sat on your sofa doing nothing and it goes. Happened to me opening the fridge once Hmm

Anyway, do seek help if you feel it could be something else of course but most obvious is a pulled muscle. Heat / cold / physio/ tens / exercises / painkillers / slim pillow between knees when sleeping ... all help
