DD2 has an angry red rash with what looks tiny white burst blisters (that never actually were blisters). Have trouble getting to doctors as other daughter is still contagious with chickenpox so can anyone recommend a step up from metanuim?

If you go in and ask for canesten for babies they will sell it to you over the counter (as long as you think it IS thrush)... other than that, drapolene is an antiseptic.

Bizarrely, I found that vaseline worked far better on BabyDragon than metanium.

If other dd is contagious, can you not ask GP for a home visit? My son had horrendous nappy rash due to eczema and were given a steroid based cream especially for thrush ans damp areas of the body, It is on prescription though

My DD also had angry rash, Metanium didn't help.
Egg white did the trick. I've put it on the night before bed, was gone the next morning, after struggling for 4 days.

metanium with a layer of sudocrem on the top worked for my 2 dc's.

I have tried metanium, drapolene, bepanthen, sudocreme, germoline, vaseline, zinc and castor oil, bottom butter, calendula cream, kamillosan, vagosen, canesten, chamomile tea.

the only things that work are

rooibos tea
emu oil
grapefruit seed extract
honey
egg white
morhulin
conotrane
orabase
manuka honey

Little white spots sounds just like thrush so you'd need something like canestan to get rid of it. Timodine is commonly prescribed for nappy rash with thrush but it is prescription only - you could try phoning your doctor and see if they'll prescribe it over the phone?

didn't work for us but seem people swear by red clover cream aswell.

hemp cream works wonders here.
