I have had my Mirena fitted since February.
It is great. My unmanageable periods have ceased and I get nopain whatsoever.

The only pain I get is a random, crippling pain, like 5/6cm dialated contractions. The most accurate way I can describe it!

If I have been sitting watching telly or in the car for a while, these contractions start. We had to pull over at the weekend so I could get out and pace and squat etc!
I have only had this since having the coil in and am making an appt. at Docs to get it removed this week I think.

I am rather worried it has damaged me?

Anyone ever had this?

I had a Mirena, and I had very similar pains to those you describe. It felt like a very definite cervical pain, almost like dilation during labour!
My coil had actually perforated my uterus and I had since put it down to this; however, during my recent post-op check up I asked the gynae about these pains (which I was still getting), and she examined me for reassurance, finding no problems. I am still none the wiser really. Sorry not a great help but I can identify with this.

Yes definitely you need to see the GP-it may well not be in the right place. Commonest scenario is that it has slipped into the canal.
Milkymill's experience of perforation is, thankfully, very uncommon.
Be prepared to have it removed(in terms of alternative contraception planned)
