Does anyone have low blood pressure

RunawayBride2 · 03/03/2021 14:15

... I've been feeling dizzy/lightheaded last couple of days. Had blood pressure taken and it was 118/76, is this low blood pressure and couple that be causing my dizziness?

That’s not low.
Officially the nhs site counts 90/60 as low but the GP’s in our practice don’t consider BP low unless it’s 90/50.

Thanks @Howdoin
I was worried thinking it was low, couldn't see much on line

That's perfectly normal BP, the textbook "12 over 8"

My normal is about 110/62

Does your family have problems with low BP? Maybe you could still be having spells of low pressure or heart issues, don't know

In itself it’s not low but if you know what your normal bp is it may be low for you . My bp is usually 100/50 ish , and it needs to drop to 70/ to make me actually feel dizzy .

Flippyferloppy · 03/03/2021 15:49

Your BP is practically textbook.

I have had low BP all my life, I'm now mid-40s. It's ususally 90/50 although a couple of weeks ago it was 100/60. I've actually had mine measured as 65/48 on one occasion and that did make me feel ill. In my usual range though I'm rarely even dizzy, just tired.

I'd get it investigated though as it's not nice. Have you considered blood-sugar or inner ear problems?

I have low blood pressure. It goes under 90/50. I do feel very dizzy when it does. 110/70 is very good for me.
