Tonsils, throat weirdness

Last week I started with these strange sensations were I felt like I had been strangled (neck felt tight but could still breathe normally). I still have this feeling albeit not as bad and my neck feels slightly swollen I think, also not sure if I can feel a bit of a lump on neck but not 100%. Anyway rang dr they cannot see me for week. But then this afternoon ear started hurting a bit, intermittently, more irritatingthan painful. Then tonight I was doing my lateral flow test and noticed a large white spot/patch at the base of my right tonsil which is also enlarged (it has been enlarged for quite long time). anyway Google has scared the shit out of me. So sensible people on here what do you think it could be, should I ring dr back in morning and ask to be seen sooner?

Did you prod it? Could it be a large tonsil stone that’s developed after you having a sore throat so more phlegm/mucus?

Sounds like tonsillitis and swollen glands.

My glands swell up like tennis balls when I get tonsillitis (which I get far too often).

I've not had a sore throat. I did try and poke it but couldn't reach without gagging

If it was tonsillitis wouldnt my throat feel sore. My tonsil doesn't hurt at all?

It does sound like tonsillitis although weird your throat doesn't hurt. I get all those symptoms with it e.g. feeling of tightness, white patches, ear pain and swollen lymph node in my neck.

I have had exactly what you described for the last 2 and a half weeks I thought it was tonsillitis but after having had to go to the surgery it's an ulcerated throat from a viral infection. Two massive ulcers on the back on my throat & lymph glands up & ears hurting. They told me to get steroid lozengers & use ibuprofen & mouthwash etc which helps.

It is so strange. I've tried ringing go for appointment but am yet to hear back.
