Okay, I can account for all the tablets that are missing, but what would have been the consequences if DD had eaten...

a ibuprofen tablet?

I woke up yesterday and DD had been rummaging through my room, and I had stupidly not put some ibuprofen tablets back in the medicine cabinet.

She appears to have tried to get at them, as there are tooth marks on the foil, and bite marks on the plastic, but I am adamant she hasn't had any (eight missing which I can account for them in four lots of tablet takings)

I know I was utterly stupid not to think that my 2 year old could reach the top of my drawers, so please don't lecture, just tell me (out of curoristy) what would be the side affects if she had eaten one like a smartie?

one tablet ok as you can give ibuprofen to children . if it was a 400mg tablet is too much but one probably wouldn't do anything . if she tried to chew it wouldbe bitter but might choke if tried to swallow. It is an irritant to stomach so may cause sickness . I am pharmacist dashing off to work, talk to your local Hosoital A&E if you think even one was swallowed just in case, BYEE

Many thanks. I thought that ibuprofen were okay for children as are in calpol.

I know she hasn't had any, but wanted to know what the signs would be just in case! There is always that doubt in the back of your mind when these things happen, in the way you wonder if you unplugged the iron, even though you did, and touched it after it cooled down!
