I know its perfectly normal to have hair loss once youve had a baby........I have long hair to below my bra strap and I just washed it after a couple of days of not bothering and it is coming out in handfulls.............I put together the hair wound round my fingers the stuff from the plughole and the hair from the sink and its the size of a tennis ball !!!!!!!!......
I also have to clear the hair from my brush every day theres soooo much and my bathroom floor looks like a hair carpet (not hovered in there for 3 days tho lol !)

Please tell me its normal and will slow down soon.........dd is 16wks

its normal and will slow down !

my hair fell out in handfuls too especially after ds. However pre-kiddies it was really thin and straight and completely lifeless, since ds it has completely thickned up and is kinky beyond belief. I still lose more than I think is normal but there's so much i don't really mind

Honestly it will stop. Scary at the time though...

I've been losing mine by the bucket-load and was getting worried cos I was running out (even though it happened first time round as well)! But my ds is now nearly 21 weeks and I notice that the rate of loss has been slowing down in the past week or so. Good job as I was beginning to experiment with a Bobby Charlton comb-over .

Agree with everyone it will stop, both times the area at the side of my head above each ear was virtually bald but thankfully could be hidden by the longer hair on the top. I asked my hairdresser to cut my hair to disguise it and she confirmed that she had seen loads of new Mums with similar and don't panic!

And considering Dementeds long luscious locks, you definately should not worry!!!

The hair loss definitely slows down but three children down the line I do seem to to have a receding hairline. It's starting to concern me as I have visions of resembling the woman on "Birds of a Feather" - the one next door who likes a bit...

Thanks for that..........I was begining to stress but I suppose you notice it more with long hair, my dp also moans especialy about the plughole I find I cant wear it down as I find it everywhere.......in the bed on the floor in the food ....yuck !!!!!
