Long story short it transpires my dentist did not fill my tooth deep enough, and I have throbbinf decay underneath the filling. I have been given a 2 weeks course of antibiotics, and if these don't work then my dentist says we are looking at a root canal or an extraction if the damage us behind repair.
I am frustrated that he did a shoddy job of the original filling which is why I'm in this position, but it is what it is!
I guess I just want to know if root canals are anything to be scared of? And does anybody have any tips on how to get by in the meantime? I started taking the antibiotics this morning so hopefully they kick in soon!
