Help!! Should I be worried?

I took 2mg of diazepam Saturday lunch and another Sunday morning for anxiety, haven't had any today.

I completely forgot about it and drunk this evening - I had 4 cans of those pre made cocktails. Should I be worried??

I know you're not supposed to mix the two but it was about 34 hours ago since I took it.
Really worried now Sad

99% sure you will be fine.

The diazepam will not be in your system in a strong enough concentration to be affected by the alcohol; to me the no mixing is within the same day/with each other.

MyGoMargot · 22/02/2021 22:55

100% you will be fine!

CatherineCawood · 22/02/2021 22:56

You'll be fine! People take more than that to get on a flight then drink all the free drinks! Honestly do not worry it's well out of your system.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 22/02/2021 22:56

If you have definitely not had any since Sunday lunchtime, and assuming you are healthy with no liver problems, the diazepam will be out of your system and you will be fine.

Maybe talk to your GP about other ways of managing anxiety though? Diazepam can be incredibly addictive, even in small doses.

Workinghardeveryday · 22/02/2021 22:57

Oh my you will be fine!! It’s your anxiety over thinking and worrying! X

TheoriginalLEM · 22/02/2021 22:57

I regularly wash down diazepam with gin Blush

sylbunny · 22/02/2021 22:57

I have on many occasion voluntarily mixed the two and all I've had is a lovely nap after feeling a bit spacey.

MyGoMargot · 22/02/2021 23:01

On a serious note though - avoid alcohol and diazepam together, it depresses the respiratory system and can be potentially fatal in large enough doses

Recycledblonde · 22/02/2021 23:02

I take diazepam for flying, I wash it down with champagne generally.

Poppydex · 22/02/2021 23:04

But would it be fatal at the dose I had it??

Thanks for the reassurance everyone, I'm a very anxious person.

as others have said, there are real dangers off mixing the two, but seems the gap is enough in this case.
but wasn't that quite a lot of alcohol in one session ?
that would concern me if you were my family/friend.

bookshop1 · 22/02/2021 23:08

If youre anxiety is that bad then you really shouldn't be drinking so much....it will only make you feel worse

MyGoMargot · 22/02/2021 23:09

4mg in divided doses in a 24hr period really is minimal

Absolutely not.

No harm done.

One of those things - sometimes we forget. Don’t beat yourself up about it. But the dose you had will have no impact with alcohol the next day.

Poppydex · 22/02/2021 23:50

I just rang 111 just to make sure and she said I should be fine just don't do it again.
