Help! Lump feeling in throat

JC17fj74 · 22/02/2021 22:19

I've had a strange feeling in my throat this afternoon which feels like I have a lump there and I need to burp.
I remember reading something a while back about heart attack signs and a feeling in your throat and now I'm laid in bed worried I'm having a heart attack 😩 😰 Any advice?

Oh I was going to say that. I had it once..its not dangerous. .....assume you have no other symptoms?

janlevinson · 22/02/2021 22:27

Please try not to worry. I had this on and off for years. Was really bad at one point. It can be due to tight muscles in your throat, indigestion, lots of things. But if you are worried then call your GP in the morning.
Have a good nights sleep 🙂

I'm 33, in good health generally although BMI a little high so could do with losing a few pounds.
That article is interesting I have been excessively clearing my throat recently too... 🧐

Reflux or anxiety = globus. Leads to increased muscle tension, dryness and throat clearing etc.

Try some gaviscon advance, drink plenty, steaming, avoid throat clearing, relaxation etc and it should pass!

I get that when my anxiety is bad. You feeling anxious at the moment ?

I started to get this recently and have started suffering Indigestion/reflux. Apparently it's nothing to be concerned about, assuming the sensation goes away again. Sometimes there is no reason for it at all and a lot of people can experience it at some point in their lives. I take gaviscon and more recently an antacid that's taken once per day. Seems to have helped my reflux. Hard to know where it stems from but I imagine stress and anxiety could play its part in these strange times.
