hba1c lowish?

had a battery of blood tests. GP said all is normal but got a print out which I only read after leaving surgery.

my hba1c result is in red as outside range (came back at 28 but paper says range is 30-41). Does anyone know what that means? Am I pre diabetic or something? it was a non fasting blood test. I probably should ask GP but she just said all ok. So I thought I as MN instead. Grin

The HbA1c reading reflects your average glucose over the last 2-3 months.
So it doesn’t matter if it is a fasting sample or not.
It is not a sign of pre-diabetes as this could only be the case if the result was raised.
Generally lab reference ranges cover 2 standard deviations from the mean.
So it’s completely possible to be just outside the range and for it to be normal
