Inhaler questions

Hi
Bit daft but never had an inhaler before. So here goes.

When you uses your inhaler do you normally get a weird sensation behind your eyes? I do every time and wasn't expecting that.

To use it I take a long breath out. Then try and breathe in deep, whilst pushing the inhaler. The thing is it feels like my throat spasms and closes up at the back as I do. Is this normal?

Sorry if these questions sound odd or thick. The inhaler should only be temporarily but I am wondering if I got the instructions wrong because it only makes a small difference to my breathing.

It really depends on the inhaler.

This is the best site for tips. It takes a couple of attempts to get it right usually and some inhalers build up an effect when you use them every day so you might see a bigger improvement in a few days.

It will partly depend on the particular inhaler you have. It's quite common for people to not use inhalers efficiently, especially when they first start using them. In normal times you would be shown in person how to use it properly! If you are still experiencing this after watching the video CarelessSquid posted, it's probably worth speaking to your GP. Not all inhalers work well for everyone. You also might find using a spacer is more effective for you.
