Has anyone had a hip arthroscopy - how was the recovery? DH is due one in a few weeks so it would be good to be prepared.

@LostToucan I know this is super old but just wondering how your DH got on? I am making the decision whether or not to have this surgery and just so unsure.

Hi @garlictwist It went well - ended up with an overnight stay as he was last on the list, came home the next morning. Surgeon ended up removing quite a lot of fluid in the joint and trimmed the labrum as well.

DH pottered around the house the first day and the following day managed a short walk around the local park. Just kept adding a bit more distance every day. Can’t remember how long it took to come off crutches but it was quite quick.

By 5 months post op he could really notice that doing a 6 - 7 mile walk in slippery muddy conditions was pain free.

So DH had a very positive experience.
