Dentist quoting £200 for tooth whitening - but only a very few bottom front teeth need whitening to bring them to the colour of my other teeth. They are quite discoloured - and this would be great. I see from the website list of fees that the surgery charges £200 for a whole mouth so am wondering about this. Could it be because the process involved in the whole mouth - you can't isolate some teeth?
I've got a lot of crowns and some implants and I know that the whitening won't touch those.
And I'm quoted £2, 500 for straightening (temporary alignments followed by night time retainer for life) but again it's just those few (3 or 4) bottom front teeth. No costs cited for straightening on the list of fees.
This is a good dentist whose fees are normally reasonable. I'm embarrassed about challenging these quoted costs but the straightening, especially, seems very expensive.
Any experience of paying for such treatment/ any ideas? Thanks!
