Numb foot

I injured my foot 2 weeks ago. The pain wasn't bad to start with, but has gradually got worse and worse. I spoke to 111 on Tues night after the pain became unbearable, who requested I make an appt to see my GP the next day. The GP has referred me for an X-ray, but the appt for that isn't until Thursday. Frustrating, but understandable given the pandemic and the GP told me I was lucky to even get an X-ray. I have managed for 2 weeks, so a few more days is OK.
However, over the last couple of hours the pain has lessened but been replaced by numbness and pins and needles. GP said to call back if anything changes, but they are obviously now closed. Is this something I should be worried about and need to call 111 again over? I'm very conscious of not wasting the time of an already stretched service, but really worried the sudden change could be something bad. Any doctors about? I appreciate nobody can say for certain without examining it, but would like some reassurance if possible that either not to worry/wait and see (latter is DH's opinion and he's made me feel unreasonable to call 111) or that this is a good enough reason to call 111 back.

Call 111

If it’s following an injury then a physiotherapist/osteopath could diagnose/advise. About £50.

Thanks for replying. I will indeed seek out a physio once things have healed up if I'm still getting problems. I doubt one would be willing to do anything yet whilst I'm waiting on getting an X-ray, as it could yet be shown to be a fracture.

Oh I see, yes. I jumped the gun.

I don't think you would be unreasonable to go to ED or a minor injuries unit (if they're open atm) now.

I think I would go back to 111 with that and see what their recommended course of action is.
