Don't you just hate vomit bugs?!

They are just the pits!

DS1 came down with one last night, and he tends to fight it so never gets to an appropriate place. Last night he threw up over the side of his top bunk, and covered the majority of his bedroom with vomit.

I had invited my new man round for the evening.
Both boys were fast asleep & all was going swimmingly, then DS1 woke up telling me he felt sick.
I got him a towel to lay on, but he sat up, lent over his bed & threw up over the side, covering most of the room in vomit!

I have spent hours washing sheets (he covered both his & DS2's), duvets, pillow cases, teddies, toys, towels, and scrubbing the carpet, beds, toys, bedside table etc!

I have a horrible feeling that the second I have finished washing everything, the experience will be repeated with DS2!

oh god, an emetophobe here in complete panic
dd1 was sick all last night
dh took care of her but now he os sleeping and I have all three of them downstairs
she says she feels better but I'm terrified that dd2 and 3 are going to get it

dd1 gets a little upset but knows to get to the toilet
dd2 is only 2 and has never thrown up properly before
I can't cope

dooley1 · 04/11/2007 08:22

oh no TR
it definitely isn't a 24 hur thing, dd started last weekend but nw has a really bad cough and if she coughs too much is sick
ds hasn't been sick since Friday night but was awake btw 11pm-1am wanting cuddles because he was very hot and sweaty and kept having bad dreams.
Isn't autumn/winter fun?!!

TrinityRhino · 04/11/2007 08:23

oh god oh god oh god

naughtynoonoo · 04/11/2007 08:25

Its crap isn't it. TR try not to panic too much. DD6 knows whats going on, but DD3 slept through his vomitting last night and said he wasn't sick last night. He is now walking to the fridge wanting milk - what do I do?

dooley1 · 04/11/2007 08:25

sorry didn't mean to panic you
yours might not all get it
can you take them out in the frsh air? Might help stave off the panic for you?

TrinityRhino · 04/11/2007 08:33

noonoo, dd6???? how many children do you have??

and how come you are so calm with many more children than me

naughtynoonoo · 04/11/2007 08:40

TR, I meant dd is 6 and ds is 3, goodness me 2 is enough for me, esp at times like this. what gets me is that come Friday lunchtime dd was fit as a fiddle, we went for a mega long walk yesterday and she was fine. It was just about 10 o'clock she woke up and said she felt sick that it happened. I then thought I better check on DS and he had vomitted everywhere in his sleep, oblivious to it all - bit scary tbh.

TrinityRhino · 04/11/2007 08:43

noonoo, oh right

yes dd1 (7) was fine till 10pm last night then was throwing up but midnight and most of the night.

dooley1 · 04/11/2007 08:47

oh yes I went into dd last week and she'd been sick in her sleep. Felt so guilty, poor little thing...

Oh dear, it seems lots of you are going through this nightmare!

Harmen - I take my hat off to you dealing with 4 sick children! Sorry to hear you have had the extra stress of the argument with your mum.

TR - I am a bit of an emetophobe too, but have had to get used to dealing with sick on my own as their dad was always worse than useless! Now I am on my own, and go into auto pilot when dealing with it, but am really dreading DS2 coming down with it, and am terrified of catching it myself, especially as I have no-one here to take over the boys care.

DS1 seems much better today thankfully, but I am just waiting for it all to start again with DS2. It is bound to happen at any moment!

DS1 seems a lot better now, but still a little under the weather. This bug seems to have really taken it out of him.

The worst thing about stomach bugs is that once the DCs are over it, you get it

Pinkchampagne · 05/11/2007 09:34

Oh don't, sweetkitty, I am dreading that happening as I am on my own with the boys.
Have you caught the bug?

I sympathise. DD suddenly started vomiting at 3am this morning she was only sick once but there was lots. Then this morning she was trying to convince me she was fine to go to school and vomited again so i've kept her off. Just waiting for ds to come down with it now and i'm feeling rather sick myself but think that's more due to swallowing blood all night from an emergency tooth extraction I had yesterday. Oh the joys.

Pinkchampagne · 05/11/2007 09:47

poor you, ledodgy, it is awful isn't it?
I am prepared for DS2 to come down with it at any moment.

My DS still seems floppy & unwell 3 days on, so hasn't gone to school today.
I just hate vomit bugs!

DD2 was only sick once but lots of diarrhoea nappies, DD1 was sick loads and has had runny poos, DP hasn't been right for a good few days with diarrhoea and a sore tummy. I have had stomach cramps and diarrhoea this morning, I'm only 4 weeks pregnant as well

DD2 and DP have had loads of how can I put it really smelly farts, with DD2 you think she needs her nappy changed and she hasn't done a poo, it's amazing how something so foul can come from something so little. I feel like my entire house stinks of poo.

Pinkchampagne · 05/11/2007 10:46

Oh what a nightmare - you poor thing!

Oh no, poor you, harmen! Glad you are feeling a little better now though. I could do with some of those anti sickness tablets in the house!
