Photo attached. Does this area have a specific name or is it all just full of nerves? It's like a tingle, it feels like a raw nerve in there, it's a feeling like when the Dentist hits a nerve. Is this area connected to carpal tunnel syndrome? Thankyou.

Yes it could be carpal tunnel. I had it one summer so bought a wrist splint to wear at night, worked a treat.

Carpal tunnel usually affects the underside of the wrist and the first 3 fingers.
Have a look at De Quervains tenosynovitis to see if that matches at all

The superficial branch of the radial nerve passes roughly where you’re pointing.

I get tendonitis in my hand, it's the tendon that leads down from the thumb, when it flares I can see it,and it looks like that.

FelicityBeedle · 19/02/2021 03:01

If you grasp your thumb in your fingers and flex the wrist to extend the tendon and it hurts, it’s very possibly De quervains, you can also often feel some swelling in the tendon compared to the other. Braces and ice can help
