worried about Ovarian Cancer

I am beside myself with worry. 2 weeks ago I got a dull pain under ribs and side. Then I noticed I was slightly bloated. And also maybe a little constipated. I also noticed that I was burping and having symptoms of indigestion. I never usually suffer from these things. And they have stayed with me. I am getting indigestion first thing in the morning when I wake. I thought indigestion happened after eating only.
It is all so uncharacteristic. I am also getting a lot of nausea after eating. I went to the GP, He took bloods and has referred me for an abdominal ultrasound. He did mention possible gallstones but I didn't think constipation and bloating were symptoms of gallstones. I am so worried as these symptoms are all so new and unusual for me, Also my period just came a week early. I googled the bloating indigestion etc and ovarian cancer kept coming up. I am beside myself with fear now, I have 2 kids, I am 44.

Aww hun try not to worry...I had some of the symptoms you are having and I had gallstones...I had really really bad indegestion when I was pregnant just the once and then after our little boy was born it happened again...I couldn't stop burping literally all day and knew something about want right as I wasn't like this before pregnancy...after a lot of tests with the GP they finally referred me for a scan and I was told it was gallstones and had my gallbladder removed...the pain happens when a gallstone gets stuck I think but honestly never felt pain like it (I would nearly be taking myself to A&E it was that bad) they also found out I had kidney disease which I had no idea...Im 32...hopefully u will have ur scan soon to reassure u xxx

I would say possibly gallstones too. See what they find with the ultrasound, even if you have gallstones they might try to manage them with diet, I think they remove it only if you have severe colics.

Hi OP

My mum had and died from OC.

Mums symptoms started in Jan and got worse rapidly over 3 months. They were.....

Bloating - never went down like indigestion bloating normally does, stomach got bigger and bigger. Felt hard and firm. Looked 9 months pregnant.

Feeling of UTI but without burning, stinging.

Indigestion/ heartburn / unable to complete a meal.

She felt really poorly. Unable to complete normal day to day activities.

Ask your GP for a CA 125 blood test. It's not conclusive for OC but anything over 35 should be looked into. Mums was over 500 at time of diagnosis.

@siocam thinking of you. How did you get on?

My DW died last July of ovarian cancer. She did not burp all the time.
Her symptoms were:
Persistent stitch like pain in her side
Bloating that didn't come and go
Hard area on lower abdomen
Nausea
Lack of energy
Loss of appetite

joystir59 · 04/03/2021 06:07

My DW's CA125 was 47, slightly raised. The CA125 test is unreliable for some types of ovarian cancer. DW had clear cell stage 3C when diagnosed.

Feel your belly. Does it feel soft when you press it?
