Am I being too obsessive and is this my paranoia? I searched on the internet and saw lots of pages mentioning about this harmful material, polycarbonate and its matabolite Bisphenole-A.
Every single day I am learning something I used or did that might have been harmful to my baby! That's enough! I didn't know that being a mother is so difficult. I think I am losing it...

My advice? Stop searching the internet!!!! If it is major and confirmed it'll be on the news (or on MN ).

I tried. But even if I don't search, somehow I find something to worry about. I hear something from a friend or TV or an e-mail and then worry. I think this is "selectivity in perception"

Hasn't this been around for ages ?

LIZS · 02/11/2007 18:37

ah and it was you concerned re: the car seat . Honestly there has been nothing proven and it isn't a new "scare" afaik, just scaremongering. Pelase stop looking for probelms that may not be there, youa re doing your best with the information you have.

My friend told me about this years ago. I remeber that Avent bottles weren't affected I think it's just the really really cheap bottles.

Seona1973 · 02/11/2007 19:51

I think most of the bottles including avent are made using Bisphenol A (BPA). It is not something I have particularly worried about though. From FAQ's on avent website: [[http://www.avent.com/uk/en/learn_more_faq_bottle_feeding.php#q20 What is Bisphenol-A, and what are the issues surrounding BPA?

hercules1 · 02/11/2007 19:52

Don't search the internet. The biggest risk you take everyday will be crossing the road I expect.

Seona1973 · 02/11/2007 19:52

Sorry, What is Bisphenol-A, and what are the issues surrounding BPA?
