Sense of dread

I feel this absolute sense of awfulness coming from my belly which hurts like there are several trains all moving around and about to crash into each other and I'm just going to watch it unfold.

I read about something like this on MN before and it turned out to be something awful. Can anyone link to it?

My heart rate is going between 100 and 110. I am 40, normal BMI.

Bump.

Have you ever suffered from anxiety? It might be related to a health issue but that's what it sounds like.

This is what I am hoping. I can't make it stop because I think its being ramped up by a UTI. Its like a horrible trip.

Sense of dread/doom can be a indicator that someone is unwell though it is often accompanied by other symptoms ie chest pain, bleeding, signs of sepsis. Your heart rate may be symptomatic of your anxiety around the situation. Do you have anyone with you? Maybe try some deep breathing and see if that helps. If you have any other symptoms I would call 111.

I've known a couple of people whose mental state was seriously affected by UTI - not sure what the underlying physiology is. I would phone 111 anyway and get some advice - if it's anxiety perhaps that will help alleviate the symptoms a bit until you can see your GP?

There was a post a few weeks ago where the op had a sense of impending doom, she also had a lighter than normal period. Hen she went to hospital, it turned out she had, as some posters had mentioned, an ectopic pregnancy.
