Acne type patch on DD's cheek

Hi my Dd is 21 and over the last year has had a red acne type patch on one cheek. No other spots or issues. Anyone had any successful treatment ? Not yet been to the GP - always feel that they'll prescribe some.m Cortisone and it won't do anything. Hormones maybe? Time for a specialist?

Why won't she consider the GP?
At 21 surely it's her decision.

Start with the GP if she’s tried over the counter/skin care routine. I finally contacted mine who prescribed antibiotics and a retinol gel and it’s clearing up finally

Could it be rosacea rather than acne ?

Not been to GP because lockdown and thought it would go/ just one of those things.

My hairdresser got this ignored it for a couple of years when she went to the doctor it was treated and gone quickly, wonky hormones with her first pregnancy had set it off. It was on her cheek too.

Also to say I used my GP’s econsultation service, attached pictures of my acne and they sent my prescription to the chemist, just a quick phone call back from them to explain what they were going to do. This was great as I didn’t have to go to the surgery in a pandemic, might be worth checking if yours offers the same service
