Chest pain

So I'm not sure wether to be worried about this or not... for the past few days when I go to bed I get a really sharp stabbing pain on the left side of my chest, uncomfortable enough to stop me sleeping most night. It also comes on if I breath out too deeply. I've had this happen in the past and it has disappeared after a few weeks, however the pain is worse this time. Has anyone had anything like this and could give some advice?

Definitely get any chest issue checked out (today) but perhaps it’s a touch of costochondritis

Definitely get it checked out. If you don't want to go A&E make an appointment with GP

Thanks for the replies. Just been seen by an out of hours doctor who thinks it's an infection in the lining of my lungs, nothing they can do other than painkillers and it should go in a week they said x
