Progesterone in pregnancies/future pregnancies. Positive outcomes?

So, I wonder if anyone has been prescribed progesterone in there pregnancies and it have w positive outcome.

I had 3 miscarriages in 2020, one in April, one in October (which was a chemical) and another in December. I also had a stillbirth in 2015 with identical twins, they had TTTS so they hasn’t really linked with the miscarriages.

I had been referred to the NHS miscarriage clinic which I had my phone call with them yesterday. All my bloods for thyroid, blood clotting, a scan I had showed my womb was fine and the lining around it was fine. I did however have cysts on my ovaries, had a blood test for polycystic ovaries and that came back clear. I did however have a swab taken and it showed group b which I’ve been prescribed a week course of penicillin.

On the phone call yesterday the consultant was happy with my results, positive that I had a pregnancy that passed the first trimester (my twins) and she has prescribed that I take progesterone in my future pregnancies. So when I find out, I inform my doctors and they will give me the progesterone and I take it until I’m 16 weeks pregnant. And also has advised I have an early scan at 6 weeks and again at 7 weeks.

Has anyone had progesterone in their pregnancies and had a positive outcome? I don’t want to run away with myself and think it’s the cure

Yes. I have a low body temperature and this affects progesterone production in early pregnancy. Following three miscarriages I had progesterone pessaries prescribed. I managed to persuade them to give it to me until I’d passed the 18 week mark. I also ate sweet potato daily as this helps progesterone production and had acupuncture to increase my body temperature. I now have a nine year old. Good luck x
