I'm supposed to be having a caudal epidural soon to try and shift a fragment of disc from an earlier prolapse. A fragment of disc fractured off and an MRI has shown that it's stuck between the vertebrae and the sciatic nerve. The consultant's theory is that the epidural might reduce the swelling and encourage it to shift. After 18 months of constant pain, I'm more than willing to try, but am a bit cautious of the procedure. Anyone had one? Any side effects/ thoughts appreciated.
