My feet are weird, i'm concerned that i have a new and strange walk - who do i see about it??

When i wear boots, my feet kind of turn in a the sides - the inside sides. Like i'm walking on the inside sides of my feet. This isn't very clear is it. My boots get worn on the soles only at the inner side - and i develop a bizarre walk, so i try really hard to walk more on the outside sides to balance, but then i also look strange.

I don't really want to see my gp and say i walk odd. It seems to have only started in the last year or two. Who do you speak to about freaky feet? Do i need built up shoes? [worry] or inner soles? or foot braces?

Hey stop panicing.

You need to see a chiropodist to get orthotics, Or if this only happens in your boots Stop wearing them!

What is happening is that the bones of your foot are being pulled out of alignment can cause other problems. Like pain in the shins, knee weakness, hip and lower back problems.

Hang on I'll go and look it up. My DH is a chiropodist and we all have to waer orthotics for something. They are just like a hard insole. But SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO comfortable you litterally only notice them when you are not wearing them because your feet start to hurt!

CadaverousCorpulentCarmenere · 31/10/2007 13:25

I'll second that. Orthotics are great.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 31/10/2007 13:28

You need to see a specialist in biomechanics.

It's probably not your feet, if you've had children. It could actually be your pelvis.

Bodies are weird things, arent they?

claricebeansmum · 31/10/2007 13:29

DH and DS both have orthotics and it makes their lives so much easier.

If you are London/Surrey I can recommend a brilliant woman - she quite literally gets the lame walking!

StaryNightSky · 31/10/2007 13:30

Hi just checked and you have pronated feet (Same as my DH)!!1

this is easy to understand

this is what you need

The mark up at a chiropodists is terrible. You don't even want to know what we sell these for. But I am farily sure this supplier will sell to you direct!

Wow thank you stary! You are quite definitely a star,... again! So do you think it'd be ok to just order this myself? Wow, the foot sloping thing has even got a name and everything!
Thanks

Be fine,

They are a very gentle orthotic. To be honest fit most people perfectly. They are also slim line so will go into you court shoes etc

I think you can now order on line, but if you have any problems come back to me and I can order them for you and send them onto them.

You just need your shoe size.

They sorted my feet out a treat. My DH charges a fortune for biomechs assesments and prescription! But these are what we all wear in the familey for pronation and suppanation!

Hope you are feeling better, hows your little one?

Sorry had a slight emergency so I couldn't reply straight away!

Bocoreepy · 31/10/2007 14:30

We're all starting to feel better today thanks - dd2 who had the sickness bug has bounced right back - dd with tonsillitis is still pretty grotty but still managed to dress as a witch and be bored!

Hope your emergency was nothing too serious.

Thanks for all that advice, i'm going to try and order one.

Oh No nothing to worry about!

My parents love to set me little challenges with very tight time frames!

I like to think of it as the kypton factor on steriods!

Pleased to hear that you are all feeling a bit better.

If you have any problems I'll keep checking back!

Bocoreepy · 31/10/2007 14:40

Oh i think we've crossed posts - if you see this can you email me? Thanks again Stary
