Bleeding with mirena

Hi I had mirena fitted about 4 years ago not had much trouble with it but I have noticed now I am starting to bleed, not all the time just random now and again, I am into menopausal age so was wondering if it could be that? Its not a heavy bleed and have one or two clots but nothing really heavy... hate gyno problems so any advice before I have to go to GP would be helpful, thanks Smile

I have the same, after 4 years it might be best getting a new one
I find when it gets to 4-5 years I start having breakthrough bleeding

That's good to know, I had it fitted under anesthesic as I was having a hysterocopy and endoscopy so am terrified of having it replaced with no GA.. smear tests absolutely hurt me so much so anything gyno I avoid if I can 😫

I've had mine replaced. I'd take some painkillers before you go and but honestly, it's more uncomfortable than anything Smile

I got that after about four years. I’m having a new one soon at five years but apparently they’re now licensed fir six so no rush.

@Nannie1989 I always have mine done under GA

if you have a good consultant they're happy to do it
I've only ever had one done awake - never again
