Roughly every other week it starts to hurt her, she even struggles to sit down, and it lasts about 2-3 days, it is definately the skin tag causing it, but the gp refuses to remove it because of her age and she would need a general anesthetic, she has given me steroid cream for piles to see if that helps

Why on earth would she need a general??? Ask for a second opinion. You can have a local, but he can't do it. Ask to be referred to a paediatrician or a paediatric dermatologist for advice from someone who knows what they are talking about.

She said she would need a general because of the area its in, and it would be less distressing for her, she said I could get a second opinion but would most probably get the same response.
