Implant renewal during lockdown

Just wondering if anyone has been successful in having their Nexplanon implant removed and a new one put in during lockdown?

Mine is due to run out next month and my periods have started to return along with the horrific cramps which had just become a bad memory over the past few years.

Going to contact my GP tomorrow but not holding out much hope as I know they have much more pressing issues to deal with at the moment.

I was due to have mine removed and a new one put in back In July my gp cancelled and assured me it will be perfectly fine and just as effective for a extra year making that 4 years in total I'm currently single at the moment so not to worried

Yes, back in September I had mine taken out and replaced at my normal GP surgery. Took a while longer than usual to get an appointment and there was a bit more faff on the day because of getting PPE on and off and self doing height, weight and BP but all OK.

That's good to know it's still effective for another year, not sure why my periods and cramps have returned but glad to know it'll still work, thanks!

Oh good so seems like it depends on individual GP practices then, hopefully mine will still be one of the ones still doing it! Glad you could get yours done!

Mine ran out back in June. My GP aren’t removing or implanting new ones at the minute and told me I would have to go to the sexual health clinic in town if I wanted it doing.

I’ve been on the pill since and haven’t got off my arse to phone the clinic to see if I can get an app.

Hopefully you will be able to get an appointment. Really hoping I can get mine changed as my period pains are becoming really bad again or I may have to go on the pill myself.
