I've just been diagnosed with pre diabetes and high cholesterol. Doctor is advising low carb diet and daily exercise and is optimistic that this can be reversed fairly easily but is stressing long term lifestyle changes rather than a quick fix. In the past I've responded well to low carb / keto style diet so while I'm ok with that, I'm concerned that the high fat aspect isn't good for the cholesterol. Should I be focusing on lean protein rather than high fat so essentially going low carb / low fat. On keto diets we're encouraged to eat the "fattier" meats etc. but that doesn't feel right now. Anyone had to tackle both pre diabetes and high cholesterol at the same time?
