Neck lumps

Hi all,

For years now (or for as long as I can remember) I have had two lumps underneath my chin (as seen where the women in the picture is touching), I guessed they were lymph nodes and that they were normal but they're quite large. They don't hurt, they're not tender at all and they haven't changed in size whatsoever over the years. But for some reason, I wondered if it's normal for them to be that size? They're probably the same size as a large grape (about 3cm). Can anyone else feel their lymph notes to be this size?

They’re your submandibular salivary glands!

holliem91 · 26/01/2021 20:27

@Greybeardy and is it normal that they're that size?

I just had a look at they're about 3-4cm in size and the size of a walnut, so I think they're normalSmile

Yep, I have them roughly the same size as yours, mine aren't painful either.

Have you ever had glandular fever? I was told it can cause this and the glands won't return to their original, smaller size.

Yes mine are the same, that used to freak me out. The one on my left hand side as ever so slightly larger, but the body is not symmetrical. I also agree with a 3 cm thing.

Don't poke them though!
