Scalp problems

Weirdly enough, I’m allergic to my shampoo and my scalp is going through a flare up. How can I treat it? This is a recent diagnosis btw, so I have only just stopped using it.

There’s no dryness/dandruff. My scalp is red/sore and itchy in areas and there’s a few bumps (similar to pimples but not). GP has suggested a scalp lotion (0.1% w/w betamethasone as valerate).

Would this be suitable for my specific concerns, as it seems more targeted for dandruff?

Any other advice appreciated

Thanks

It’s a steroid so not just for dandruff.

used to treat skin conditions of the scalp (such as psoriasis, seborrhea). Betamethasone works by decreasing the swelling (inflammation), itching, and redness

I imagine it would help enormously.

Maybe then try something like this once it’s cleared up. For sensitive scalps.
