since being a teenager i have been quite prone to indigestion. I assume thats what it is anyway, it feels like a pain right in the middle of the chest.

for a whole week now, an hour or so after every meal i have had it. i have only been eating very small portions because of it.

last wednesday i was in agony to the point where i thought actually i'm probably having a heart attack. not that anyone took any notice!

i have tried andrews salts and various other potions to no avail.

I had this since teenager (though better now usually). It's reflux iirc. I thought I was dying - was very melodramatic teen at time.

What kind of foods are you eating/what are you drinking? Certain foods/drinks can make it worse.

Gaviscon is the only thing that works for me - great big bottle of the liquid.

If it's getting this bad and you can't find anything to help it may be worth a trip to the gp.

beat me to it loopy!

Have you tried being tested for food allergy?

Lazarou · 29/10/2007 18:36

gaviscon is good, but it sounds like you need to see the doc if the pain is that bad. My dad had this, thought he was having a heart attack, went to hospital and they gave him morphine! They also gave him very strong gaviscon type concoction apparently.

i'm just eating what i always eat. last wednesday came on really suddenly a couple of hours after eating some coleslaw and it was absolute agony.

since then it's been milder but like i say i've not ate much
