I’ve been on the mini pill for 18 months now and my sex drive is literally non existent and the thought of having sex fills me with dread but before I was on this pill I was fine. My partner recons I should get the coil as it doesn’t affect your libido (according to dr google) but I’m petrified of the thought of having it inserted although I have had a baby before. I guess what I’m asking is, has anyone’s sex drive gotten back to normal on this pill and what was your experience of the coil?

Can you take combined contraception?

I’m on cerazette and I can’t take the combined due to migraines

I went from cerazette to mirena coil
Mirena was ok and stopped my periods (like cerazette did) but needed removing under general anaesthetic as the strings went awol and couldn't be removed in the normal manner

If anything cerazette has made me bleed more also, forgot to put that in OP

You could try a different mini pill that's not desogestrel based and see if that helps

I tried the injection but it made me bleed and I put on loads of weight

Ultimately dh got the snip so I don't use anything now
