Does anyone have any knowledge on finger lumps??

On my little finger, palm side up I have a lump maybe just under 0.5cm in size but it is right on the first crease/bend down? You can’t really see it unless you hold it at an angle but you can feel it. If I bend my finger back it is prominent and looks like under the skin it is a darker colour. It doesn’t move on its own, it is hard but doesn’t hurt. It has been there a long time.. i don’t want to bother the GP just now plus it doesn’t really show up in a photo to show a GP anyway... any ideas?

Wart?

Dachshelp · 14/01/2021 14:45

No nothing like a wart, a lump under the skin. Not on top of the skin. The skin is the same, you wouldn’t really know it was there.

It could be a ganglion. I had one and they usually sort themselves out eventually, though sometimes they burst and refill a few times

Really? When I was Googling that came up but it doesn’t seem to add up to that?
@CMOTDibbler what was yours like if you pulled the skin back?

Arthritic? I’ve had a couple ....they don’t hurt and they don’t move.

Ganglion.

Do you rest your phone their when texting / scrolling? Apparently it's a new phenomenon called phone finger or something. It forms like a seg to protect the skin & joint.

Dachshelp · 14/01/2021 21:45

No @iklboo but I can certainly see how that happens!
