My lovely friend/colleague is on oral chemo. And is suffering sickness a lot.
She doesnt really want to talk about it? I'm not sure how to help her.
I try just talking about daft/funny things as that does seem to help her.

What could I recommend to help her with sickness? She cant stand ginger! And isnt eating properly either.

There are a range of anti-nausea meds that can be given of various strengths. Has she been clear with her dr about her nausea and got better meds (I just had to do that)? Nausea and not eating are two side effects drs generally are keen to deal with, i.e. you're not just expected to suck it up.

Lean on the medical team and don’t hide how ill she feels.

There are various anti sickness meds - they will have others to try.

On my worst day DH did not know what to do with or for me and called the hospital, 10 mins later dropped me at out patients door I was met and ushered though and put in a big comfy chair.

To ill to do anything other than confirm identity.

Two hours later I walked into town for coffee and lunch (pre Covid).

What they did was iv fluids and a different iv anti sickness drug.

Angels.

She needs her doctors to recommend her something.
