Unusual gallbladder symptoms

Hi my ultrasound confirmed that I have hundreds of gallstones.
I’ve been having some classic symptoms but also unusual symptoms. I’ve had constant pain for the last 5 months. No let up.

  • right shoulder blade pain
  • Right neck pain
  • Right mid/upper back pain
  • Pain under right rib, painful to touch
  • Right low back pain, with pain going down my right hip and right leg.
From what I’ve read online mid/upper back pain and shoulder pain are common symptoms. But I haven’t really seen anything about low back, hip or leg pain. Did anyone else experience these symptoms? I haven’t really had attacks, but have discomfort after eating under my right rib, right chest and the mid/upper back pain intensifies

Hi everyone
I'm currently in hospital after kidney infection but also suspected gall bladder problems. I have been having persistent UTI's for a couple of years with them no nearer to finding the cause. Could the gallbladder be to blame? Sick of being passed around different departments and getting nowhere

@Cahu58 a nurse my surgery told me uti’s are common with gallstones, that gallstones/sludge could irritate the urinary tract when they pass

Thank you for your reply. I hope so, I had it removed 2 weeks ago but am currently in A&E with a temperature and feeling increasingly worse not better after surgery. The pain has gone though

I had pain down my leg which ended up being my gallbladder...

Hi @Gracie2001 I also get the bad hip and leg pain as well as mid back pain. I have a stone and some sludge in my gallbladder confirmed about 1.5 years ago. Has your pain gone? The hip pain is what’s concerning me and daily nausea

I'm pleased I've found this thread. I've had intermittent pain for about 12 months. A few weeks ago I had severe pain that lasted 2 days. It was horrendous but have me the push to ring my gp. I'm currently waiting for a scan appointment and the gp thinks it could take up to 8 weeks due to the backlog! I'm staying another attack. My pain radiated across my upper tummy, felt like I couldn't breathe, all round my sides and back and I couldn't eat without throwing up for about 3 days. I feel better now and am dreading going for the scan and them not seeing anything. My pain also seems to be close to my cycle and I've time has increased in severity. Can they detect sludge in a scan?

@Mehripoop I had my gallbladder removed in Mar 21. I’m much better than I was. the gastro symptoms have gone which is good I can eat anything without pain, but I have generally kept to a healthy diet. The hip and leg pain is better but not entirely gone. I’ve recently been doing Pilates to help strengthen my core, hips and legs, which has helped a lot. Just staying hopeful for complete recovery. I wouldn’t wish the hip and leg pain on anyone, I had sciatica for more than a year with it.

@Cleanmean my sludge was debated and after about three scans they agreed it IS sludge

@Gracie2001 hi did your gallbladder problem get resolved - Ive been experiencing right side dull ache persistently for 3 months now - paid for a private ultrasound and said I have small gallstones but as the pain is so constant and moves around I worry it may be something more sisnister - still waiting for hospital appointment...
